November 26th 2011Presentation Night
A fine array of Penguin Suits were on show, and despite the venue being Chigwell Police Club, a lot members with a history of dodgy bowling risked making an appearance under the gaze of The Law.

September 4th 2011Group 5 Unbadged Double Fours
Central continue their tradition of success in this competition by beating Old Dagenham in the final.
In a seesaw game Kenny Ruston's rink clawed back from 7-1 down to 9-9 then slipped back to 23-12 down after 18 ends.
They then claimed 9 shots in the last three ends to finish just 2 shots down, taking the pressure off the other rink.
Meanwhile Mitch Brenner's rink has been keeping pretty level through to the middle of the match,
at which point they took a few ends with big counts,
finishing comfortably ahead by the 21st end, giving Central the overall win.
August 31st 2011WEEL Triples Final
Having defeated Romford in the semi-final Central take on Poplar in the final.
An early big win on Rod's rink gives the other two triples a bit of breathing room and in
the near darkness Paul Woodford's rink also won comfortably giving Central the overall win.
The pressure of the competition can clearly be seen on the faces of the players who required all their
concentration to bring home the cash ..... or did they just eat something that disagreed with them?

by his singer/songwriter daughter Beverley, who can now add Wanstead Central Bowls Club

May 30th 2011Bank Holiday Monday Lionel Chambers Mixed Pairs Competition
A shortage of women forced a slackening of the rules to allow 'same sex' pairings. Never let it said that our club isn't broad minded.
The 8 end final saw Tony and Angela face up to Peter and Mike (or Petra and Michelle if you prefer.)
May 11th 2011Central at the ALFA Triples Final
Central meet Romford in the final delayed since last year.
With one rink to each side the result hinged on the last few woods of the last end of the third rink.
Despite holding shot before the last few woods Central are denied by a perfectly drawn, impossible to get at Romford shot wood.
